1970s
1972 Formed by founding partners, including Alan Storey, in Bletchley, England
1975 Company moves to Milton Keynes, UK
1980s
1984 Adam moves to larger owner-occupied premises in Milton Keynes
1985 Manufactures a new mechanical design of a scale for the cotton industry in Tanzania
1988 Manufactures a medical scale and exhibits at an international show
1990s
1990 Opens a new office in South Africa
1991 Re-equips schools in Kuwait with the largest single order placed for precision balances
1995 Designs and manufactures the Hemogram to weigh and control use of swabs in operating theatres
1997 UK head office moves to a larger facility
1998 US office and warehouse opens in Connecticut
1999 South Africa office moves to larger facility
2000s
2001 Manufactures a towing force transducer for use by police in accident investigations
2004 Larger specially designed production facility purchased and built in South Africa
2005 State of the art production facility opens in China to meet the growing demands
2006 New range of precision, analytical and moisture balances launched
2006 New design of Industrial and counting scales released
2006 Sales and distribution centre opens in Australia
2007 US warehouse expands to meet growing sales
2008 Shanghai sales office opens to support China and Southeast Asia customers
2010s
2010 Production facilities in China expanded to meet further demand with new ranges added
2012 40th anniversary celebrated with a charity donation to build a major extension of a school in Rwanda
2013 UK head office expands and moves to a redesigned factory in Milton Keynes
2015 New European sales and distribution centre designed and built in Germany
2015 US operations expands to a custom-built site in Oxford CT
2018 Australia move to new office in Bibra Lake, Perth
2019 Adam releases new range of scales and balances including the Cruiser, Solis and Equinox
2019 Adam’s directors sell all their shares to Indutrade AB, an international technology and industrial group based in Sweden.
